Spotlight: Cargo Fleets

Engineered for Heavy, Daily Commercial Use

Cargo operators put more miles on a tricycle in one month than a private owner does in a year. BENLG cargo trikes use high-tensile steel frames with electrophoretic anti-rust coating, solid rear axles with leaf-spring suspension built for sustained load, and high-torque motors for urban stops and rural inclines.

Open drop-side beds make loading and unloading fast. CKD and SKD shipping keeps landed cost low for high-volume fleet operators, and spare parts (controllers, motors, brake shoes, axles) are available for minimal downtime.

BENLG outstanding electric tricycle rear independent suspension with AC motor
Reinforced Welded Frame

High-tensile steel chassis with electrophoretic anti-rust coating and powder paint, tested for sustained load and vibration.

Solid Axle + Leaf Spring (Cargo)

Cargo models use a proven solid rear axle with heavy-duty leaf springs — simple, durable and ideal for constant heavy loads.

High-Torque Motor

Brushed or brushless motors tuned for low-end torque, handling urban stops, rural inclines and loaded starts without strain.

Braking & Parking

Front and rear drum brakes (hydraulic on select models) plus a mechanical parking brake for safe stops on slopes with load.

Drop-Side Cargo Bed

Open beds with removable drop sides for fast loading from any side; bed lengths from compact to 1.6m and extended long-bed options.

Lead-Acid or Lithium

Cost-effective lead-acid for price-sensitive markets, or lithium with smart BMS for high-usage fleets that need range and fast charging.

DUDU Exclusive: Optional Rear Independent Suspension

Unlike cargo trikes that use a solid axle, the BENLG-DUDU passenger tuk-tuk offers an optional rear independent suspension system — coilover shock absorbers with half-shaft (CV joint) drive, paired with a 4kW AC induction motor. This is a passenger-comfort upgrade, not available on cargo models.

DUDU rear independent suspension coilover and AC motor DUDU rear wheel drum brake and independent half-shaft
  • Coilover shock + lower control arm per rear wheel — each wheel moves independently, reducing body roll and improving passenger comfort over rough roads
  • Half-shaft with CV joint transmits power from the central motor to each wheel without a solid axle, allowing independent wheel travel
  • 4kW AC induction motor delivers smooth, consistent power for passenger transport with lower maintenance than brushed motors
  • Drum brakes on all wheels with mechanical parking brake — reliable stopping for loaded passenger operation
  • Available on DUDU 2-row and 3-row — select the independent suspension option when configuring your passenger fleet
  • Cargo models use solid axle + leaf spring — a deliberate choice for load durability and simplicity in cargo applications

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions from electric tricycle importers, distributors and fleet operators.

What types of electric tricycles does BENLG manufacture?+
BENLG manufactures three main configurations: (1) open-bed cargo tricycles (HARVEST, WIND160, WIND180) for delivery, agriculture and vending; (2) canopy passenger tuk-tuks (DUDU 2-row and 3-row) for urban transport; and (3) leisure & mobility tricycles (X3, C80, A8) for urban travel, elderly mobility, resorts and tourism.
Cargo vs passenger electric tricycle — how do I choose?+
Cargo trikes prioritize payload, open-bed access and durable solid-axle + leaf-spring suspension for heavy loads. Passenger tuk-tuks (DUDU) prioritize seating capacity, canopy protection and ride comfort — with optional rear independent suspension for smoother passenger transport. Choose based on your primary revenue model: hauling goods vs. transporting people. Some operators run mixed fleets.
What is the DUDU rear independent suspension, and how is it different from a solid axle?+
The DUDU passenger tuk-tuk offers an optional rear independent suspension: each rear wheel has its own coilover shock absorber and lower control arm, driven by a half-shaft with CV joint from a central 4kW AC induction motor. This allows each wheel to move independently over bumps, reducing body roll and improving passenger comfort. Cargo models use a solid rear axle with leaf springs — a simpler, more durable setup optimized for sustained heavy loads rather than ride comfort.
DUDU 2-row vs 3-row — which should I order?+
The 2-row DUDU is more compact and maneuverable, suitable for shorter urban routes, shuttle services and lower-density areas. The 3-row DUDU has higher passenger capacity (up to 6 passengers) for high-demand urban taxi routes and busy transit corridors. Both offer the optional rear independent suspension and full canopy. Choose based on your route density and local passenger demand.
What payload and cargo bed sizes are available?+
Cargo bed sizes range from agricultural (HARVEST) to 1.6m (WIND160) and extended long-bed (WIND180). The HARVEST model is built for agricultural heavy-haul use. Exact payload capacity (kg), motor power and range vary by model and battery configuration — confirm specifications for your target model at the quote stage. All cargo beds feature drop sides for flexible loading.
Lead-acid vs lithium battery — which is right for a cargo or passenger trike?+
Lead-acid is lower upfront cost, rugged and well-suited to price-sensitive markets and lower-usage fleets. Lithium-ion is lighter (increasing payload), lasts 2–3× more cycles, and includes a smart BMS — ideal for high-usage passenger fleets and delivery operators where range and uptime matter. For tricycles specifically, lithium's weight savings directly translate to higher payload capacity. UN38.3 and IEC 62133 compliance is available for lithium packs.
What is the minimum order quantity, and can I mix models in one container?+
Standard wholesale MOQ is one full 40HQ container. Mixing models within a container is possible for SKD and CKD shipments — this is common for distributors who want to offer both cargo and passenger configurations. Private label / OEM orders also start from one container for branding-only changes. Sample units are available before placing a bulk order.
CBU, SKD and CKD shipping — which saves the most freight cost?+
For our 1.5m cargo tricycle configuration: SKD loads approximately 40 units per 40HQ, and CKD loads approximately 60 units per 40HQ. CBU (fully assembled) loading has not been formally measured for tricycles and can be evaluated on request. CKD offers the lowest per-unit freight cost but requires local assembly capability — we provide assembly manuals and technical support. SKD is a middle ground with partial disassembly. Choose based on your local assembly capacity and freight budget.
Do BENLG electric tricycles have EEC, CoC or DOT certification?+
BENLG electric tricycles do not currently hold EEC/CoC type approval or DOT certification as complete vehicles. BENLG holds ISO9001 quality certification for its manufacturing process, and UN38.3 / IEC 62133 compliance is available for lithium battery packs. We provide technical construction files, test samples and component-level documentation to support buyers in their local homologation process. If certification is a requirement for your market, please discuss it with our team before ordering so we can advise on the most suitable configuration and documentation path.
Can the cargo bed, canopy, seating and colors be customized (OEM)?+
Yes. BENLG supports full OEM/ODM customization for electric tricycles, including: cargo bed size and style, canopy design (soft top or enclosed cabin), seating configuration (2-row or 3-row for DUDU), body colors and branding/logo, motor power, battery capacity and type, and packaging. Private label and white-label programs are available from one container for branding-only changes. Full custom development typically requires 1,000+ units. Visit our OEM/ODM page or contact us to discuss your project.
